In an effort to show our support for the 2020 Senior Class, the Marceline R-V Schools will be joining schools around the country by turning on our football field lights on Friday April 10th, at 8:20 p.m., which is 20:20 military time, and leaving them lit for 20 minutes, and 20 seconds to honor the class of 2020. We want all community members to be aware in the event someone is wondering why our field lights are on.

Dear Parents, Staff, and Community members
The Marceline R-V School District will be dismissing classes effective Tuesday, March 17th at 3:00P.M. This cancellation will be for approximately 3 weeks, with an anticipated return date of Monday, April 6th. The situation will be reevaluated at that time. The Marceline Early Learning Center will also be closed during this time. This action is being taken at the recommendation of the Linn County Health Department to help limit the exposure and possible spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
Students will be provided with educational resources to reinforce concepts and provide enrichment during this time. Students are highly recommended to complete this material, but no grades will be taken. Marceline Middle School and High School students will be asked to take their Chromebooks home with them. Walt Disney Elementary students in need of a device will be asked to pick up their Chromebook Wednesday morning between 8:00-12:00 at the Disney Elementary lobby. Parent signature will be required. Parents are strongly encouraged to ask their children to use the Chromebook for educational purposes only.
The Marceline R-V campus will be closed to students, parents and community members during this time and all school-related activities are cancelled. No practices, competitions, meetings or gatherings of any kind can take place for student athletics or organizations on campus or off.
We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our plans as necessary. Please continue to check the Marceline R-V website (www.marcelineschools.org) for updates and cancellations. These plans may change as this pandemic takes its course. We will continue to rely on information provided by the State of Missouri, the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, the Department of Health & Senior Services, the Center for Disease Control & Prevention and the World Health Organization to guide our decisions. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this unprecedented time!
Sincerely,
Brian T. Sherrow
Superintendent of Schools
Marceline R-V School District

As the first case of Coronavirus is diagnosed in Missouri, more are likely to follow soon. We will continue to work with the Health Department and follow our pandemic flu plan. Increased cleaning procedures have already been taking place due to the normal influenza season and will continue as we weather this new virus. Please follow the information closely and stay home if you are sick.
Good handwashing practices continues to be our best defense against the spread of disease, so make sure you and your family are washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Nurse Kelly.
